Whether you're stopping by for lunch or a casual dinner, the environment supports a laid-back, enjoyable experience.

The menu leans into classic yoshoku flavors, blending Western-inspired dishes with a Japanese touch. “ This cozy Western restaurant on Senkawa Street is run by a solo chef. Apparently, the chef originally worked at Fritz in Akasaka, which later closed and changed its name to Ponchiken in Ogawamachi. It's unclear whether he worked at Ponchiken. He was also the owner-chef of Shunkotei, a Western restaurant in Mejiro, so he may have worked at Ponchiken as well. As expected, the fried foods are exceptionally delicious. A particular recommendation: Potato Croquettes (690 yen each) Fried with coarse breadcrumbs, they're crispy and delicious. They have a similar feel to Ponchiken, but both are exquisite. Crab Macaroni Gratin (2800 yen) The béchamel sauce was excellent, and the crab and macaroni were perfectly combined. The cheese was just the right amount of melted. Beef Tongue Stew - ¥4,500 The beef tongue was so tender, it practically melted in my mouth. The roux was also rich and flavorful, and absolutely delicious. This restaurant is popular, so I recommend making a reservation. Regarding the service, I was a little concerned when I heard the chef getting angry at a waiter. The chef is the only one cooking, so it takes a while for the food to be served. However, every dish was carefully prepared and delicious. ”

“ This Western restaurant is run by a married couple. As the name suggests, this renowned restaurant has been selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in Japan for its exquisite fried foods. No matter when you visit, you can be sure of the carefully prepared food. As it is a small restaurant, reservations are required for dinner. As the husband cooks alone, there are various restrictions on dinner, which some people may find bothersome. My recommendation is lunch on a weekday around 1pm. While popular menu items are often sold out, the restaurant is relatively empty and the atmosphere is relaxed. This time I chose the F mixed fries. The menu included fried shrimp, pork fillet cutlet, fried horse mackerel, and croquette for 2,600 yen. In winter, I recommend adding fried oysters as a single item. Consistently delicious again today! The wife's service was calm and kind, and I had a very pleasant time. Thank you. ”

“ Many of Tokyo's delicious Western restaurants are in Ginza, but I think I'd rather go here than to the crowded Ginza area. A five-minute walk from Kasuga Station's E5 exit. I visited at 12 noon on a weekday. There was no wait. There was only one other person in the restaurant at the time. Well, I guess it's a higher-end option than average for a lunch for office workers... But since I'm not a fast eater, I was able to enjoy my meal at my own pace without worrying about others. I ordered the mixed fries (minced meat cutlet, pork fillet cutlet, and two fried shrimp) E for 2,500 yen. After the meal, I could choose from coffee, pudding, chocolate cake, or strawberry sorbet. I chose the strawberry sorbet, as I wanted something refreshing after the fried food. A mini salad was also included, with French vinegar dressing. The tableware was stylish. The salad was delicious, and I realized the chef has a keen eye for ingredients. Having eaten out a while, I've come to realize that, naturally, there are people who are good cooks, people who have a good eye for food, and people who can do both. After trying the salad, I realized that the chef here is one of those who can do both. The fries, of course, were crispy! The fillet cutlet and minced meat cutlet in particular were delicious even without any sauce! Personally, I prefer good meat with salt. The salt was stylish (I don't know what kind of salt it was), and it was delicious. I didn't take a photo of the rice, but the portion was just right. The strawberry sorbet was also rich and delicious, and I was very satisfied. (^^) Credit cards are accepted for purchases over 5,000 yen, so I paid in cash. I'm over 30, so I don't eat fried food very often, but next time I'll go in the evening and try a variety of dishes with wine. Given the location, I feel like I've found a hidden gem. ”

“ ■Mixed Fries F Fillet cutlet, minced meat cutlet, fried horse mackerel, fried shrimp ・Yogurt sorbet ■A little curry This Western restaurant in Koishikawa has been awarded Tabelog's Top 100 Western Restaurants. I went there for lunch on a weekday, just before opening, and there was no line, so I was able to get in right away. All the menu items were around 3,000 yen, a little on the pricey side for lunch, but the fries were crispy and delicious. ”

“ I heard about it and decided to go. Maybe because of COVID-19, it was after 1pm and there were no guests there. I ordered a set of pork loin cutlet and fillet cutlet. The fillet was fried to perfection, evenly cooked, and slightly pink, but it wasn't the trendy rare cutlet, which was great! The pork loin cutlet was probably over 200g thick. It was crispy and juicy, with plenty of moisture remaining inside! The pickles served as a side dish are typical of a Western restaurant. It was really delicious. ”

“ [Second Visit] White mold cheese and Nara pickles sandwich with rolled omelet as an appetizer (Forgot to take a photo) Since ordering wasn't possible during the meal, I ordered everything at the beginning. Drinks were available. It's on the second floor, but the signal was poor and smartphones didn't work. Ratatouille ¥900 Potato salad ¥650 Octopus and avocado salad ¥1600 Deep-fried scallops ¥900 Crab cream croquette ¥900 Fried squid ¥750 Fried shrimp ¥500 Beef cutlet sandwich ¥4700 The fried shrimp was so plump! It was cheaper than the other fries, so I thought, "What?!" But I wish they'd ordered the fried shrimp! They also had spiny lobster, but I wonder what would happen if it was spiny lobster! To finish off the meal, I splurged on the beef cutlet sandwich, even though it was pricey. The inside was pink, like a steak. The meat was thick and impressive, but perhaps due to the oil, it was light and easy to eat. You order first, but the staff told us in advance how much was just right, so we were able to order the perfect amount. The owner cooks everything by himself, so I think that's why they put so much thought into the preparation. It was delicious. It's a Western-style restaurant that my family loves. ………………………………………………………………… Today, we went to a Western-style restaurant that my husband had been wanting to try for a while. It was a bit sudden, but we made a reservation by phone at opening time. It's popular, so we were worried about whether we'd be able to get a reservation, but after calling a few times, we finally got through. Since the chef cooks everything by himself, they asked us to order everything with the first order. There are about seven seats (depending on the number of people). The restaurant was bustling with families and regulars. Since we had to order everything with the first order, we were a bit worried. Since it was my first time, I decided based on photos from other customers to see what the portions were like. Small Combination Salad: ¥750 Ratatouille: ¥750 Fried Shrimp: ¥500 Potato Croquette Pork Fillet Cutlet Sandwich: ¥1700 Braised Hamburger: ¥4000 Small Curry: ¥750 We ordered double wine and a cup of coffee, for two people it came to ¥13,000. The fries had a crispy batter, a perfect texture and sound, and were a delight to eat. The hamburger was packed with meat, leaving me feeling relaxed and at ease. The curry was medium spicy, and I thought the portions were well-thought-out. My husband really likes this restaurant, so I'm glad. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, and we had a pleasant time. Next time, I'd like to try the shrimp cutlet (it was sold out this time), crab cream croquette, and crab macaroni gratin. Thank you for the meal. ”

“ Our twosome went to Western Food & Wine Frites in Koishikawa around 12:30 on a Sunday. Located on the second floor of a building about a five-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Korakuen Station or Toei Subway Kasuga Station, it's been listed in the Michelin Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years, featured in the book "The Art of Tonkatsu," and listed on Tabelog's Top 100 Restaurants list. We arrived around 12:30, and were surprised to find ourselves climbing a spiral staircase to get there. (^_^;) As expected, it's a popular restaurant, with two groups waiting in line. We were seated in about 15 minutes, and were able to get a seat at the very front. The restaurant is run by a male owner-chef and a male part-timer who is likely a student at a nearby Tokyo University. The background music playing in the restaurant is a quiet, female-vocalized, Western-style music. Other customers came in after us, but they turned away families with elementary school-aged children, so families should be cautious. After looking at the menu, I chose Mixed Fries B (fried oysters, minced meat cutlet, and filet cutlet) for 2,800 yen (tax included) and Mixed Fries D (croquette, filet cutlet, and two fried shrimp) for 2,500 yen (tax included). Each comes with a seasonal vegetable salad, rice, and dessert or coffee. The seasonal vegetable salad was brought out relatively quickly. Lettuce, broccoli, cucumber, and onion! Burdock, lotus root, turnip, cherry tomatoes, soft potatoes, mustard, and vinegar were all generously included. It was chilled, and the dressing had a nice vinegar kick to it. Then, for the fries, - Salt - Worcestershire sauce called Taiyo sauce - Tonkatsu sauce Then, rice and mixed fries were brought out. The mixed fries were wow, with plenty of cabbage and a little egg salad. The oyster fries in particular were quite large, and as expected, the inside was juicy, rich, and delicious with the lemon drizzle. The pork fillet cutlet was a nice pink color, tender, and of very high quality. The minced meat cutlet was oozing with juice! It was so delicious that I mentioned it to the chef, who was very pleased, and he ordered the fries for 160 yen. They cook the food at a relatively low temperature of 100°C. My companion's fried shrimp was plump and plump, and the croquette was soft and delicious. Finally, we had a choice of dessert or coffee, and we had the following four desserts to choose from. ・Strawberry Sorbet ・Yogurt Sorbet ・Gâteau au Chocolat ・Pudding I chose pudding and strawberry sorbet. The pudding had a slightly spicy caramel flavor, and the rich egg pudding was of high quality, making it truly exquisite. The strawberry sorbet was filled with strawberries, tasted like strawberry jam, and was soft and delicious. Credit cards were accepted for payment. Western Cuisine & Wine Frites is a Michelin-starred restaurant, so I highly recommend their high-quality and delicious mixed fries! ”

“ It's always delicious. You can be satisfied with anything such as fried food, roast beef, curry, etc., but personally, I love minced meat cutlets, cutlets, roast beef, and shigureni. The roast beef in particular is so delicious that it's worth taking out. In addition, the chef, his wife, and the part-time workers all make the restaurant feel at home, making it a comfortable restaurant. I plan to continue going there in the future. ”
